Averaging 21 points 5 rebounds and 4 assists for Bloomington South High School (IN), Anthony Leal has been racking up the offers over the last several months. The 6’4” junior guard has been offered by Stanford, Maryland, Butler, Xavier, Iowa, Toledo, Bradley & Evansville. In addition to his offers Arizona State, Virginia, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin & Nebraska have all shown interest in Leal. He is currently ranked our #9 2020 prospect.
Leal is a versatile and high scoring guard that scores the ball effectively on all three levels. While he is a highly talented player, Leal would like to improve his ball handling plus get stronger.
When asked what he is looking for in a school and their basketball program, Leal said “I am looking for a great education & basketball atmosphere, & somewhere I can develop as a player.” As of now, the junior told us there is a not a school that is leading in his recruiting process, but this spring his only planned official visit is scheduled to Stanford.
When asked if he modeled his game after anyone, “I do not model (my) game after anyone, I am here to create my own legacy.” Expect the offers and recruitment interest to continue to grow for Leal over the next several months when he will be playing for the Indiana Elite.
