Over the last few days, we saw a pair of commitments out of Wisconsin. Both Bridget Froehlke of Wrightstown High School, and Christy Fortune of Appleton West High School, made their college selection
Froehlke, 5’9” 2020 guard from Wrightstown High School and the Purple Aces, has committed to UMKC and head coach Jacie Hoyt. The rising senior announced her commitment on twitter early this (Thursday) morning of her college selection.
She will be joining the Roos team in the fall of 2020, who had a 16-15 record this past season and compete in the Western Athletic Conference. The commitment comes recently of the Roos just offering Froehlke a scholarship a few weeks ago in the end of May. This past season the guard averaged 15.8 point per game to earn herself first team all NEC honors. She is a high level shooter with good range that can knock down threes off the catch or dribble at a high rate. As well the guard is a very good distributor with good court vision to create for her teammates.
Fortune, a 2020 5’11” guard/forward out of Appleton West High School and the Midwest Force Select has picked Division 2 McKendree University and head coach Kari Kerkhoff. She announced her commitment back on Sunday to the Bearcats.
The Bearcats are a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference and finished this past season with a 13-15 record. McKendree offered the rising senior a scholarship back in May. In addition to her McKendree offer, she also held one from Bemidji State. Fortune is a big time three point shooter, who is one of the best in the area.
I am excited to say I have committed to @UMKCWBB. The coaches and players are amazing! Thanks goes to so many, but especially @TigerGirlsHoops @PurpleAcesGB and every teammate and coach along the way. Thanks @CoachJacie and staff for welcoming me to the Roo family. #RingTeam pic.twitter.com/bSCGWdNOWN
